"For those anxious, nervous moments when you feel compelled to fidget"
Welcome to j.j.Fish Studio . It was with a touch of sadness and joy that we announced the closure of our retail gallery. We had a great 15 years in historic downtown Berlin, Maryland - but circumstances changed and it was time. The sale of our leased, gallery storefront was finalized on January 1, 2016. The planned renovation of the building's exterior and interior was extensive. From a business and personal perspective, it was time to close the gallery.
We are still making our "Worry Bead Rings" and will now offer them through the mail. We will also continue to make Marble Pendants for both machine made, contemporary handmade and antique marbles. We can be contacted at email@example.com with questions and orders. There is also a contact form on this website.
We welcome questions about the artists we represented in the Gallery and will be online to help with information and as a resource for our customers. Thanks to all who have made j.j.Fish a great and enjoyable 15 years in business. John and Judy Fisher
j.j.Fish Gallery opened in April 2001 as a craft studio to allow owners John and Judy Fisher to continue to design and create their own line of jewelry and metal work. Small in size, just 750 square feet total, the space is half gallery and half working studio. When not talking to customers we were busy with our own designs created onsite. Through the years we have continued to add artists to our gallery. The space was an intimate one which forced us to be selective about the crafts we showed and made it a challenge to keep the space visually exciting. We called the gallery a "gathering of friends" because most of the artists are people we knew well and respect their personalities and creativity. j.j.Fish Studio proudly supported the work and vision of 70 craft artists. . .
As artists Judy and I are still active in the local art and craft scene in Berlin/Ocean City, Maryland Judy volunteers at the Ocean City Art League, helping with children's summer art experience programs and in the pottery studio.
I am still making a little jewelry, playing table tennis with a local club and enjoying a little time chasing the white golf ball around the golf course.
We are still making "Worry bead Rings" and selling primarily through a few select craft galleries.
This website is a work in progress and is a chance to continue our personal story.
